BuzzSumo Content Research: Discover
Use discover to find new content ideas. With the Discover tab, explore ideas and find trending content and hot questions.
The trending tab fig3 sorts all your content by the trending score or probability that the post is viral. The trending dashboard calls for your own feed management or the creation of dashboards for your own custom and curated feeds that you would like to view. Manage this feed by countries, language, total engagement either Facebook or Twitter, Pinterest shares, or Reddit. Go to the manage button to see the feeds or remove the feeds from your dashboard. Click the custom feed to create a recent new feed, name the feed, and filter content in this feed. Clicking on the feed will enable you to view stories organized by elements eg Facebook, Twitter, etc that have a trending score. Click this area to keep your feed refreshed on a regular basis.
Find new trending keywords for your content by typing the keyword such as ‘leather shoes for men’ fig4. The display gives a ‘view related keywords’ page with search volume, the monthly trend, CPC, and articles published. Each related keyword in the list will have displayed alongside the trend, volume, and CPC for that keyword. View data next to this tab to view similar keywords and view analysis.
Type any topic say ‘diamond jewelry’ fig5 for search in the Discover Topics box. The results page displays a cloud of topics. Hover over any topic from the cloud eg- ‘diamond jewellery’ to get detailed insights. Below the cloud of topics are cards that provide content ideas and related questions. A click on this card displays a graph of engagement that can be filtered by network or time. This analysis report provides more insights for engagement by network and content type, the days of the week on which the content obtains the most views, and recommended word counts. For a given period of time, trending online topics are popular. Share information on such trending topics through your blog / social media etc and increase the value of your content for getting the most engagements.

The Content >Web >View Content tab fig8 will provide an analysis of different social media platforms by way of Facebook Engagement, Twitter Shares, Pinterest Shares, Reddit Engagement, Number of Links, Evergreen Scores, and Total Engagement. Next to these social media tabs find icons for Save to Project, Share, View Sharers, and Backlinks. Click on the icons to find the content that has the most engagement. Share articles with different social media platforms. Save content for future use and a filter to the left helps filter your content by domain, B2B Publishers Only, Content-Type, and Word Count. The higher the evergreen score metric (0-100) the better it would be to consider making content around that topic.
Next to the View Content tab is the View Analysis tab. The Content Analysis report contains – average engagement by network and content types, total engagement by day published and the best day to publish, average engagement by content length, reactions, top domains showing engagement for Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Reddit, etc for the keyword or topic, and top pieces of content by engagement.
